Hi friends. Welcome to the new Melanie Teichroeb blog and website.

This website represents the work I have done, am currently doing and hope to do in the future. I am humbled and grateful for the success I have had with Shield Maiden. A creative door opened up for me and it’s been amazing. I discovered I have so many ideas that I want to get out into the world. I do not take this opportunity for granted at all. I still have the Shield Maiden website and I am incredibly proud of that show. I also feel it is okay for me to be curious about what next, what else.

This blog space allows me to share the behind the scenes thought processes that go into my art. The musings will seem random at times, but I have learned that all my incongruent thoughts lead to something juicy when I pay attention.

My path leading to my first solo show is a winding one. One filled with love and adventure and heartache and experience and well, living.

And now, since first writing and performing Shield Maiden, I have become incredibly focused on exploring my inner world and the art that comes from that exploration. My path is wilder, more dynamic and revelatory. This has been so much more challenging and rewarding than I ever thought possible.

When I say “Welcome to Melanie Teichroeb”, I mean welcome to this point in my life. You get me middle aged and well seasoned. You also get me bursting with excitement and wonder at not only my creative process but the awe inspiring processes of others. This combination for me, personally, is thrilling.
